We had a multicultural wedding that blended Irish, Iranian, and Guatemalan customs. The ceremony, readings, food, music, and dancing definitely reflected this! I always had a vision of bringing stained glass into the space at The Hickory Street Annex.

We searched antique shops all around Dallas, until one day we stumbled upon the blue, purple, and red glass you can see in the photos. The glass came from a church front window- and with the arch of flowers hanging above us, and the light shining through the glass, it was absolutely perfect.

We made donations to seven different projects through Global Giving in honor of our guests. Just by attending, our guests were able to provide to schools in Guatemala, after-school programs in the US, computers for underprivileged kids, etc. We had place cards at each setting, giving info on which project they contributed to.

I honestly wouldn't change a thing. From the beginning, my fiance and I decided not the sweat the small stuff. The most important part of our night was our union and we believed that everything else would fall into place -- and it did! My best advice is to find vendors that you love, then trust them to handle the small stuff- that's what they're good at! That frees you from all the stress that goes into planning a wedding and enables you to focus on what's most important.
