Have you ever thought of having a destination wedding, but quickly dismissed the idea when you realized how difficult it'd be to keep your guest list small? Well, we'd be willing to bet that you'd willingly cull your crowd if it meant having a TO DIE FOR microwedding on the small island of Chrissi (just 15 kilometers south of Crete). This wildly beautiful island, untouched and uninhabited, is precisely what inspired this ethereal editorial shoot and what will forever be haunting our dreams in the best way possible.

The day started out with our bride, glowing in her sheer Maria Konidi wedding dress and dripping in crystals, walking from the beach through the trees to go meet her groom, who was dressed in a sandy-colored suit from Raffaello Uomo. The bride’s hair and makeup was done so effortlessly and perfectly by Michalis Tsotras: it was exactly what every bride needs for her beach wedding.
Their first look was magical, with the sun hitting just right behind them and bathing everything in gold. They then walked together, hand-in-hand, to their ceremony location with the bride’s dazzling bouquet, which included flowers so blue that they matched the sea behind them.
Standing together under a cloud of flowers hanging from the trees, barefoot on a sandy colored rug, they exchanged their vows intimately and simply.
A plethora of chandeliers and lighting fixtures hung from the trees adding ambiance and finesse, all provided by Ultra Special Events. The flowers, beautifully done by Oneiranthi Weddings, were pink, purple, sorbet yellow, electric blue – meant to add pops of color to the otherwise neutral backdrop. Pink stoneware plates from White Lilac Rentals, printed linens, shell napkin rings, and branches from the very trees surrounding the table adorned with small flower buds all completed this elegantly bohemian look. Even the bar by The VW Mobile Bar was crafted to fit into the surroundings, serving bright icy cocktails that were perfect for the late summer heat. Then the cake was cut – a beautiful wedding cake masterfully created by Poulette Pastry and mirroring the waves of the ocean, with the colors to match – followed by dancing on the rocks until the sun went down.
The following day found our couple on a private yacht celebrating once again. The day-after party of a destination wedding is just as important as the reception itself, and for us it was no different! We all boarded the Evi II from Ierapetra Cruise and sailed off into the endless blue. The cocktails were flowing freely and along with even more dancing, it was the perfect ending to this two day event.
