Like its own oasis in the midwest, Chicago is certainly a gem. With the excitement of a big city and a lakefront that goes on for as far as the eye can see, it doesn't get much better than that. Taking advantage of the gorgeous views, this team planned a spectacular rooftop wedding around that oasis inspiration. With the Chicago skyline in the background framed by a stunning floral arch, these two tied the knot.
Morr Events, Vintage Floral Designs, and Posh Petals were challenged to design a city wedding inspired by the beauty of Morocco. For the florals, they focused on warm colors from the Moroccan sunset and used ornate, gilded design elements to bring that desert elegance to Chicago. With its warm wood beams and neon and pop art accents, LM Catering & Events was a unique choice of venue and brought a modern flair to this popular wedding trend. Sandra Armenteros beautifully captured the rich, saturated colors from this wedding and all of the special moments, from getting ready all the way to the couple's bubble send-off. Deep maroon, bright green, terracotta, and ochre are balanced with soft beige and rich browns in this Moroccan-inspired color palette. Designers were asked to pull inspiration from the desert and incorporated exotic blooms like orchids and orange calla lilies into these unique arrangments. Gold and brass accents are a nod to the ornate metal-work that Morocco is so well known for. Another element that the designers were asked to incorporate was the couple's love for travel.
Going for that sunkissed desert look, the bride decided to wear her hair down and keep the makeup glowy and natural with a dark smokey eye for some added drama. She wore a sexy lace gown from Grace + Ivory. The slinky satin mermaid gown was completely backless and had an intricate lace illusion neckline that framed her silhouette beautifully. The bridesmaids wore pretty blush chiffon gowns that danced in the breeze as they walked down the aisle. The groom looked equally dapper in a royal blue three-piece suit with a pale yellow tie and matching rose boutonniére.
Under a romantic floral arbor trimmed in wild greenery and roses in shades of red, coral, pink, and white, the groom waited patiently to see his future wife walk down the aisle. The guests were treated to live music by Midtown Strings and breathtaking views no matter where they were seated. LM Catering & Events has several murals, one of which played a huge part in the ceremony space, and on the other side, the world-famous Chicago skyline.
Once they said their I-do's, the couple and their guests moved indoors to get the party started. LM Catering & Events has many fun art installations throughout the indoor space as well, including a glowing neon Mean Girls quote. that makes for a pretty great photo op. The tables were set with a mix of rich velvets and textured silks in shades of terracotta and camel. Each had its own unique tablescape with gold accents, ornate cut crystal wine glasses in a unique shade of green, and vibrant floral arrangments that pulled in the roses from the ceremony arch as well as the bright Moroccan color palette. LM Catering & Events is a one-stop-shop and also provided the catering for the wedding. Sweet Home Cakery created two beautiful wedding cakes that incorporated the wedding color palette and real gold accents as well as fresh flowers that coordinated with the rest of the arrangements. When they had finally danced their hearts out and it was time to say goodbye, guests showered the couple in the cutest bubble send-off.
