It wasn’t until after I was married that I started falling in love with wedding floristry, and when it happened it happened fast. No lie, I follow about 150+ flower accounts on Insta, and I’m not ashamed to say it. But the reality is, I’m kind of over flower crowns, I’m growing bored of garden roses (still gorg, really!), and feeling like flat lays are [dare I say it] sort of extra at this point, so I’ve turned my attention to a new obsession: hanging flowers.

Seriously, I can’t look at a photo of a hanging flower install and not feel all fluttery inside. There’s something so ethereal about floating flowers and all of their iterations - from fiercely feminine floral chandeliers to blooms suspended in glass globes, to heavy greenery and garlands with colorful punches of posies hanging above a family-style banquet table - and the chicness can be straight up luxury or relaxed and rustic.

So, with that, we’ve pulled together some stunning snaps that you can crush over for the rest of the day and dish about with your florist tonight. While it’s not the most cost-conscious way to hang, it’s certainly the hautest.

Playing with hanging flowers is also especially helpful to a florist who is trying to camouflage less picturesque elements of a venue (like tent poles), enhance the natural beauty of a raw space (like the insanely beautiful exposed beams in a barn) or lighten centerpiece-heavy tablescapes. And you can cut costs by streamlining the amount of flowers you use and using decor (hanging pots, terrariums, etc.) to showcase the blooms.
