In case you missed it (or haven’t started tracking all the ‘wedding’ holidays yet #OnceYouKnowYouKnow), Thanksgiving kicks off engagement season, but the rest of November is National Gratitude Month. With that said, we caught up with one of our favorite wedding accessories brands, Weddingstar, and came up with a list of three reasons why popping the question to your friends and fam during the month of November is the actual best idea ever. Don’t get us wrong, wedding party proposals are fun ANY time of the year, but there’s just something about November that has us convinced this is just the time to do it. Read on, friends!
If you’ve just gotten engaged and find yourself itching to play Casting Director for your wedding party—hey, it’s true, every girl or guy in your group definitely has a role i.e. “The One Who…” and it’s the best. A true ensemble, if we’ve ever seen one—remember that there’s one big thing you need to do first. Before all the tagging in Insta comments, late night anxiety texting to all your best problem solvers, and doling out of all the bridesmaid and groomsmen (bridesmen and groomsmaids, too!) responsibilities, you need to thank everyone for being the people who you love, adore, and want to be by your side on your wedding day, in the first place.
Asking your crew starts with a gesture of gratitude before you ask them the all-important question. And you don’t have to wait until your wedding weekend to say “Thank you for everything you’ve done to get us here.” In fact, we encourage the thanks to come well before that, and Weddingstar has everything you could ever want to express your appreciation to your favorite people. 👉Bridesmaid and groomsman proposal boxes, for the win!
Why it rocks
Now, granted, we’re still in the midst of a pandemic, so we’re still all proceeding with caution when it comes to socializing. But it’s true, once Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is in the wings 🦃, your friends (even the ones who might live on a different coast, but still follow their hearts home) will be coming home to spend time with loved ones and you’ll be able to reunite, just like you all did in college.
November is essentially when people start planning ahead for the new year, so if you can pop your question and know that your VIPs are all locked in, you can also start giving them some dates to save. From your engagement party and bridal shower to your bachelor/bachelorette celebrations and all the one-off events that come to fruition along the way (dress and/or suit shopping, group bonding outings, etc.), you’re going to want all your bests in attendance—so syncing your calendars ASAP is the best way to go.
