The perfect bridal shower idea... should we clam up or shell all?... oooooh you know we can't keep a wedding event based secret all to ourselves. Plus this beach chic table and oyster themed event is one we truly wished we could have taken part in. From Toast Events: I love the idea of an oyster roast in Hilton Head for a rehearsal dinner. Truly a quintessential southern evening! While the task of learning to shuck an oyster was both daunting and exciting, I was simply over the moon to set the table for this beautiful shoot! Imagining dear friends connecting on the eve of a big wedding day made me simply giddy about this shoot. With bespoke linen items designed by The French Table and florals designed by Tailor & Table, everything about this shoot speaks of the ease of a seaside oyster roast.
One of my favorite elements of this look was the chair. The ghost chairs we used were such a fun, and surprising, element! The juxtaposition between the modern feel of the chair with the worn, beachy feel of the table was simply stunning. I also loved how the chairs were reminiscent of water and helped to complete the seaside feel of the entire look!
It is fun to have family heirloom elements somehow incorporated in every event. For this event, the family heirloom took the shape of a seashell collection. Gathered over numerous summer family trip to the beach, each shell, whether broken or intact, tells a special story full of memories! To me, that is one of the most special moments of this shoot. I can imagine, years down the road, the couple hosting yet another oyster roast with a whole new crop of shells for the table! Memories to last a lifetime!
The power of event branding can often be forgotten and sometimes it takes a cohesive styled shoot to remind you just how crucial the smaller details are! We loved the various linen items with printed details on them. The watercolor painted oyster motif is a cohesive way to bring the overall look together.
As an event designer, I believe that an element of ingenuity and uniqueness is crucial to every successful event. Whether it be in the larger elements of the day, or in the smaller details, creating something unique and special is the cornerstone to a beautiful event! For me, I simply loved the touch of the mini Tabasco bottles with the oysters. It was a relatively minor detail, however, it reinforced the overall aesthetic and branding of the scene in an understated way!
