When rain threatened this bridal luncheon on a yacht, this bride's team had her back. As with any event, there are some things that you simply can't plan, like the weather. Instead of panicking and switching gears completely, Delia Jeffcoat Events worked with the captain of the ship and managed to go on with the party as planned with the ship parked safely at the dock. The result is a bright and beautiful celebration in shades of blue and pink with some cute nautical vibes. It just shows that at the end of the day, all that matters is who you're with. How to Host a Bright Coastal Bridal Shower Brunch
Fancy Fall Garden Bridal Shower Luncheon
A Fairytale Garden Bridal Shower at an English Cottage
Avery and Michael’s love story began in high school in Bossier City, Louisiana, when they first met at Smoothie King during Avery’s senior year. Sparks flew, and their bond deepened over shared experiences like proms, basketball games, trips to Disney, and church camps. Their connection continued to grow through college at Louisiana Tech, where Michael even flew over Avery’s house in a school plane to say hello. After years of cherished memories, Michael proposed to Avery during a family vacation in Watercolor, Florida. He created a romantic beachfront setting with light-up letters that spelled out, "Marry Me", lanterns, and framed photos of their journey together. Avery joyfully said yes, and the couple celebrated with a surprise dinner surrounded by family, marking the beginning of their forever.
The excitement of Avery and Michael Green's wedding weekend began with a stunning bridal luncheon aboard the Lady Liberty at Big Cedar Lodge, thoughtfully planned by Avery’s mother, Delia Jeffcoat of Delia Jeffcoat Events. With hot pink and shades of blue as the color palette and nautical accents throughout, the event was a perfect blend of elegance and fun, just as Avery had envisioned.
Avery wanted to merge a classic nautical vibe with her own feminine flair. “I wanted to go with a nautical theme but make it girly,” says Avery. Pops of hot pink alongside deep blue hues set the stage, with florals by Eddie Colvin bringing the color palette to life. Elegant linens from BBJ La Tavola, shimmering in the perfect blue tones, adorned the tables, while beautifully crafted cookies by Cookies 2 Geaux added a personal touch. Delicate stationery by Priss Press tied everything together, reflecting the charm and style of the day. Every detail of the day was lovingly curated, from the thoughtful hostess gifts provided by Paper Tulip to the exquisite cake by Social Bites Confections. Hostesses Stephanie James, Ashley Wade, and Ashley McLean made sure every guest felt welcome and celebrated, adding a personal touch to the day.
The Lady Liberty provided the perfect setting, offering breathtaking views and a luxurious atmosphere. Although the weather didn't cooperate as planned, with a torrential downpour forcing the boat to remain docked, the spirit of the event stayed upbeat. “It was a torrential downpour, and we were worried we weren't going to be able to have the luncheon on the Lady Liberty. Thankfully, the captain allowed us to, we just had to stay docked,” recalls Avery. Guests, shielded from the rain, sang along to “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” as the live musician made light of the storm. The unexpected weather became a moment of joy, proving that when surrounded by friends and family, a little rain can't dampen the celebration.
Adding a special, modern twist to the event was the inclusion of Sorella Links' permanent jewelry bar. Guests enjoyed creating custom bracelets as keepsakes, marking the occasion with a lasting memory.
The bridal luncheon brought in cherished Southern traditions, including the beloved bridesmaid cake pull. Each guest eagerly selected a string, pulling charms that offered predictions for the future. The standout moment was when Avery herself pulled the ring charm, symbolizing that she would be the next to wed…a fitting forecast since her wedding to Michael was set for the very next day! Guests also enjoyed a delicious brunch catered by Big Cedar Lodge, featuring fresh waffles and other delightful treats, while the musical backdrop added warmth and energy to the celebration.
