In a world full of unicorns, Taylor and Hov prides themselves in being a little bit different, and the Llamacorn, (originally introduced to them by Tiffany McCall of Sugar Studio Co) complete with its snarkiness and Lasseiz-faire attitude, seemed to fit this event perfectly. Guests were educated about this fictional character throughout the afternoon and told that they were on the elite guest list because they too, dared to be different. The idea of a Llamacorn themed bridal shower brunch was brought to life with a not-so-subtle color scheme, over the top decor and impeccable details and created a total experience for everyone in attendance.
The highlight of the knock your socks off decor included a larger than life 25 foot ceiling installation designed by Taylor and Hov's Creative Director, Sugar Taylor and executed seamlessly by Garette Turner of Brightly Ever After. The installation, which was the piece de resistance of the event, included whimsical shapes, beautiful faux florals, marble balloons, over sized clouds and a whole slew of other materials that fantasies are made of. It was complemented beautifully with a tablescape that included handmade candy coated champagne flutes, custom print cloth napkins, grassy benches and ghost chairs (provided by AFR Rental) and iridescent flatware.
After guests had plenty to eat and drink, they headed downstairs for a dessert hour and more surprises! Sugar Studio Co. set up a totally decked out dessert table full of the most adorable Llamacorn themed cookies and treats while Soul & Ink had a screen printing station available to print complimentary custom, Taylor and Hov designed llama t-shirts with fun sayings like "Llama Queen" and "Llama said knock you out" which guests happily took home as favors.
Just as the ladies thought the afternoon was winding down, they were invited upstairs to take part in the final portion of the event; a cake decorating hour. Guests took their seats around a completely transformed table adorned with individual cakes provided by Sweets by E and Classic Bakery and an unimaginable spread of handmade, custom Sugar Studio Co. toppings including a sprinkle blend, cotton candy, Llamacorn "poop" (don't worry, they were just colorful pieces of meringue), and chocolate bark.
Guests were then given simple instructions to use the vibrant display of sugar and sweets, get creative and transform their simple cakes into mini masterpieces. Move over bridal shower bingo, because you just got replaced with a WAY more exciting bridal shower activity. After some last minute photos and lengthy, champagne fueled goodbyes, everyone left the celebration full of delicious food and sweets and with their own personal cake to take home and enjoy. How's that for a favor you'll never want to throw out? It was an afternoon full of whimsy and fun and thankfully, it was expertly documented by Erika Layne Photography.
