Are you and the ladies wine aficionados? Charlottesville, Virginia is perfect for a bachelorette wine weekend getaway. The area is known as a respected wine producer and a stop on the Monticello Wine Trail — which boasts 33 member wineries. The region is historic, too, growing its viticulture boundaries based on Thomas Jefferson’s inspired vision for the birthplace of wine in America, with vineyards surrounding the rolling hills near his mountaintop home in Monticello. He dreamed that the area’s wines would one day rival Old World wines.
While exploring the Monticello wine trail, you must visit the Monticello itself, a World Heritage site, plantation, presidential library, research institute and museum. Stay in a nearby carriage house to soak up the historic charm.
