Choosing a destination and a venue for your wedding is so much more than finding an aesthetically pleasing event space. For this couple, it was important to find a beach location, with Mediterranean vibes, that was convenient and easy to get to for their friends and family. They also wanted a venue that would let them party all night long (which is harder to find than you'd think). Luckily, they had Momentos Weddings & Events on their side! They found the perfect place to host their wedding weekend and pulled out all of the stops to turn it into a Grecian-inspired paradise with bright fuchsia florals and a trendy citrus color palette. Yassee and Yuri met at orientation for graduate school and fell in love at first sight! Yuri proposed at sunset on sand dunes overlooking the beach in Florianopolis, Brazil, his hometown! He took Yassee there over Thanksgiving break in 2019, right before COVID stopped the world!
The couple chose Los Cabos for its beauty, but also because it reminded them of Florianoloplis, a destination where they originally planned to get married.
When you're having a destination wedding, a welcome party is always a good idea! For their wedding in Los Cabos, Yassee and Yuri welcomed their guests with a poolside reception at Mar del Cabo. The white and blue of the venue were the perfect hint at the Mediterranean-inspired theme for the weekend.
In their separate suites, the two prepared for the big day. The groom donned his light gray three-piece suit and the bride took in the ocean breeze from her balcony as she slipped into her gown. She selected a breathtaking sheer mermaid dress with lace and 3-D floral embellishments that was absolutely perfect for the beachy setting.
When you think about Greek destination weddings, a very specific color palette comes to mind–think the blue rooftops and bright white buildings of Santorini. This team nailed the vibe so hard with this ceremony and Aria Vera even incorporated the bright pops of bougainvillea!
To create a wedding inspired by Greece and the Mediterranean, the creative proposal was based on a wedding color scheme that pulled in the shades of local fruits.
Food was the number one priority for them and they also were adamant that the party didn't stop until 1 in the morning. Most wedding venues in Los Cabos have a celebration time limit of 11 pm, so it was an adventure to find the ideal space for Yassee and Yuri. We chose Villa Hidalgos, a very flexible place in its schedules and with the capacity to host a good part of the guests onsite.
