Audrey and Jon's love story was 9 years in the making. They met in 2015 at their high school in South Jersey. Years later they would move to Philadelphia to begin their new lives together. The only thing they love more than being with each other, traveling to new restaurants, hiking, and exercising together is their sweet dog Leo, a gorgeous husky whom they adopted together. One day when they were taking Leo to one of their favorite trails for a walk, Jon decided it was time to take this high school love story and begin their forever story together as husband and wife. He had a picnic set up at the end of their trail walk. Jon knew Audrey didn't suspect that this was the day he would propose based on the workout attire and the look of shock on her face. Of course, she said, "Yes!" and so the planning began!
They wanted to share their new home, Philadelphia, with their closest friends and family. So when they found Glen Foerd on the Delaware it was the perfect place to have their intimate, colorful, garden party dream wedding.
Audrey wanted to include all of the colors that a true wildflower garden has. Her florist Vine and Oak went above and beyond with the most dreamy bouquet, ceremony arch, and every other detail you can imagine! She brought in peach and blush colored seating pieces which she surprised Audrey with in the bridal suite upstairs for some incredible getting-ready portraits!
Keeping with the whimsical and playful look of their bouquets the ladies each wore their own unique dresses in shades of pastel pink that fit into the romantic garden aesthetic. Audrey's timeless gown by Miss Scarlett paired perfectly with gloves she wore from BHLDN. The look of absolute awe and excitement on Jon's face when he saw Audrey that day matched the look of excitement Audrey wore the day he proposed.
With the gentle rush of the Deleware in the background, guests made their way down the great lawn for the ceremony. Framed by the pastel-hued floral arbor, the two exchanged their vows in front of their closest family and friends.
In keeping with their floral theme, they had a custom escort wall constructed with their initials at the top and guests were instructed to find their table assignments on blush-colored placards nestled between adorable bud vase arrangments.
A simple yet elegant three-tiered buttercream cake was embellished with fresh flowers. And the flavor? Strawberries and cream. The couple could have never guessed when they picked the flavor, just how appropriate it would end up being! Keep scrolling to find out why...
Later that evening we were graced with a "Strawberry Moon". This only takes place once in a while in June and it just so happens that this took place on the MOB's wedding day too. Her mother shared this story with me as her eyes were filled with tears of joy. She knew that this was a sign of many years of happiness to come and that this moment, a day that was almost a dream, was just the beginning of a love story that would be just as magical as this moment in time.
