A Timeless Arkansas Wedding in Blue and White
This Couple Went All in on a Blue and White Floral Theme and We Love
Quickly bonding over their love of Boston sports, Matt and Grace met during their undergrad. One of their first photos together was snapped while wearing Patriot’s sweaters. While Matt and Grace enjoyed plenty of time hanging with their mutual friends, their relationship remained platonic for years. Matt was a year ahead of Grace in school and began to realize their potential as a couple in the month leading up to his graduation. Unsure of how to proceed, Matt asked Grace out while on a walk on the evening of his own graduation. Despite his cluelessness, Grace had been hoping he would ask her out for a while, and their date was set up for the following evening. After their date, Grace flew home and spent that summer studying abroad. During that time, they talked periodically via FaceTime, and upon Grace’s return, they decided to give their relationship a chance. The couple was engaged while on a trip to Israel with Grace’s family. She described it as “the adventure of a lifetime,” where Matt proposed on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Serving as a treasured place to Grace and her family, Matt and Grace’s wedding in Hilton Head radiated the natural beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Their celebration was hosted at Honey Horn, located on the island of Hilton Head. This historic venue was situated on a scenic marshland, accompanied by 300-year-old live oak trees.
A ceremony was held beneath one of the magnificent oak trees covered in Spanish Moss. The couple stood beneath its ancient branches, surrounded by a semi-circle of white florals in the grass. Fully encompassed by the tree’s expansive magic, guests sat in dappled lighting upon golden chairs. The couple hired a traditional Gullah gospel choir that sang energetic worship music during their wedding ceremony as well as the reception.
Grace wore a fully beaded gown by Mark Ingram, complete with an empire waistline and delicate floral details. Designed with a minimalist silhouette and subtle vintage feel, she paired her look with light blue suede stiletto slingbacks and an airy chapel-length veil. Peachy pink florals with ranunculus, peonies, roses, and white feverfew daisies made up Grace’s charming bouquet by Em Creative Florals. Bridesmaids wore a beautiful array of light blue floral dresses in a mix of patterns and tones of sky blue. The groomsmen wore matching blue jackets, which offset Matt’s navy blue suit.
Hovering installations of greenery, as well as ample disco ball decor, decorated the dancefloor and dining tables beneath their sailcloth tent. This hyper-modern outdoor reception included a mix of high tables and classic long tables, set with golden chairs in light blue velvet cushions and pouf ottomans.
We can't get over this towering 5-tier wedding cake by Minette Rushing, with painted 3-d sugar flower details. It was the perfect combo of modern meets organic and is the cherry on top of this beautiful wedding.
Changing into something lighter, Grace wore a Simkhai mini dress with buttons down the front and an oversized pouf off-the-shoulder neckline, which she paired with white quilted platform sandals. Together, in their party cowboy hats, the couple was sent off through firework fountains for a memorable ride through the fields in a vintage blue convertible.
