In true NYC fashion, this couple’s metropolitan love story depicts a first date that nearly didn’t happen due to rain. Thanks to Michelle’s coworker, however, who insisted she go, the two were able to keep their dinner reservation, and the rest was history! Up until COVID, the pair had enjoyed their time dating and traveling together. During this time, however, they found themselves hunkered down at a lake house where they enjoyed each other’s company in a new, slowed-down way. And it was at the end of a working holiday in Florida where the couple set off for a catamaran tour that ended in a surprise proposal. Held at the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio, the grounds offered charming corridors and manicured gardens. Bold floral invitations by Ink & Ivory in shades of purple and mixed contemporary fonts invited guests to share the event with the bride and groom.
Michelle’s classic Mikado ballgown was elevated by an oversized artistic ruffle along the bodice, while her bridesmaids donned dresses in mixed shades of purple and a variety of textiles.
An outdoor ceremony was hosted on the lawn, tucked into the trees of the sculpture garden. The couple stood in front of a semicircle of bold floral arrangements by Prema Designs that rose from the grass in romantic bursts of hot pinks and deep reds. Black chairs were set for guests, who entered the gently shaded space marked by moody arrangements set atop black pillars, planned with the help of Aisle & Co..

The garden party theme was brought to life indoors with endless floating greenery, floral installations, and floor arrangements, all captured on camera by The Simmons Photography. Above the black and white checkered dance floor hung globe-like crystal chandeliers, making for a delightful play between sparkling lights and the ceiling’s rebellious greenery.
A show-stopping emerald-green wedding cake detailed with soft wild roses by Kuro Neko Cake Studio closed down the night, before mini Jeni's ice creams were passed around the reception space on trays.
For a late night snack, guests were treated to mini Jeni's Ice Cream Cups! Talk about a fun treat to close out an epic wedding day.
