You know we love a Play del Carmen wedding! Lauren and Landon said "I do" amidst the beauty of the Riveria Maya that extends just beyond Tulum at the Grand Hyatt in Playa del Carmen. The chic details and natural beauty of the property, captured by Andre Gouin, complemented each other perfectly, creating a magical wedding day experience for the couple and their guests! With the help of Mango Weddings, Lauren and Landon successfully navigated a black-tie boho meets tropical vibe that's an absolute must-see.
Lauren and Landon's wedding day began with the bride and groom each celebrating with their respective wedding parties. The bride and bridesmaids spent the morning being pampered by Zoe Elizabeth Makeup before donning their cream and ivory dresses. The groom and the rest of the guys relaxed in the upscale resort until it was time to suit up in their classic black tuxedos for the first look.
In order to spend more time on the intimate bridal portraits, the couple chose to do a first look before the ceremony. The slate stone walls of the Grand Hyatt provided a stunning neutral backdrop for the timeless black and white tones of their wedding attire. It also fit perfectly into the upscale black-tie feel of the wedding day.

While the bridal party prepped for pictures, the rest of the wedding team was building the perfect ceremony and reception sites for the occasion. One of the most unique ceremony sites in the Riveria Maya is at the Grand Hyatt Playa. The wooden aisle extends through a pool of water onto a wider platform for the bridal party to stand next to the bride and groom. In addition to lining the aisle with hurricane vases and candles, there were candles standing on iron pillars in the pool as well for the ultimate romantic ceremony setting. To top it all off, in the center of the ceremony platform Pure Love Floral Design curated a square floral arch covered in white roses, other white blossoms, and tropical greenery.
String lights and votives are the perfect choice when considering how to maintain functional but stylish lighting options at all points throughout the day. Lauren and Landon's string lights looked luxurious and blended into the backdrop during the afternoon and then turned romantic as they came on during golden hour in the evening. The white votive candles looked luxurious before creating a warm, inviting atmosphere as the sun went down.
The couple opted for an early evening ceremony that allowed them to make the most of the oceanside sunset. After a few more sunset bridal portraits, the bride and groom joined the rest of the wedding party for a gorgeous reception. The reception continued with the theme of simple yet elegant decor. White linens and gold decor filled the outdoor reception area. A mix of long narrow tables with low centerpieces and round tables with tall centerpieces lined the dance floor. Guests and the bridal party alike danced the night away with the help of Uno Audio Visual DJs . Guests also enjoyed a neon sign, “All You Need is Love”, as a photo backdrop to remember the event!
