The custom entryway at this Nashville wedding brought the celebration

embroidered wedding dress

High school sweethearts Dana and Tyrone were married at a recently-renovated building (originally constructed in the 1920’s) located right outside of Nashville, Tennessee. Because they wanted their wedding day to be all about personal touches and romance, the couple wrote their own vows, Dana's father created the ceremony entry pergola and flower wall, and Dana even designed her own wedding ring!

The couple made sure to include their other life-changing celebrations in the details of the day

The wedding took place the day after Match Day, which is a day in which graduating students from medical school discover where they will complete residency, so there was plenty to celebrate. The base of the pergola included the bride’s new title of Dr. Cornwell-Gaston and the groom’s aspirations of becoming a coach with his new Masters of Teaching degree. And even though traffic had their ceremony guests arriving a bit late, Kayla Ketner of Kayla Ketner Events kept things running smoothly. The color palette for the day was inspired by spring and summer skies, including a range of blue, white, and gold. This inspo was perfectly complemented by the classically-trained quartet from Southern Strings.

An excellent bridal shop and seamstress made this bride's experience seamless... literally!

Dana wore the “Elsa” wedding gown by Ida Torez from the Milano Collection and purchased at Couture by Tess Bridal in Cookeville, Tennessee. The dress itself is a real work of art with an abundance of complex floral patterns, embroidery, and appliques. The fish cut is one of the most popular wedding styles, as it creates the most incredible curves while remaining somewhat traditional. Dana looked chic and refined in this unique ensemble. Dana shared, "It took twenty minutes to find 'the one.' I told the sweet bridal consultant at the shop that I like different designs, and she whipped out this dress immediately. I chose it for the unique neckline and sleeves, as well as the intricacies in the beading and patterns. The gown was tailored by Hanna of ABH Designs-Alterations by Hanna in Clarksville, Tennessee. She removed the entire scalloped edge on the bottom of the dress to correct for the heels I had chosen and replaced it without any evidence that she had done it!"

Reflections from their wedding planner:

The couple’s wedding planner summed the wedding up perfectly: "Dana was one of those brides that you just love to have as a planner or coordinator. She was decisive and was so organized. I appreciated that her vision was unique for the venue, and while incorporating contemporary elements, it remained classically romantic. The day could not have gone more beautifully! She chose excellent vendors, all of whom were a pleasure to work with and who worked well together as a team. And of course, her dress from Couture by Tess Bridal was gorgeous!"
