We LOVE a William Aiken House wedding. This grande yellow mansion lined with a sweeping piazza and white columns contrasts so perfectly with a black tux and a wedding gown. Brianna, Brendan, and their precious son Brady have such a sweet relationship that was so much fun to capture on film at this venue. Brianna and Brendan have known each another since high school but didn't consider romance until they crossed paths years after graduation. Ten years later, this precious trio started a new married chapter on a beautiful summer evening in the heart of Downtown Charleston.

The planner Pure Luxe Bride transformed the courtyard garden of the William Aiken House into a fresh and modern wedding party sanctuary. The neutral palette of beige, gold and white made the event feel relaxed but rich with Charleston charm. The dining area was fabulous, with floral centerpieces designed by Petaloso placed on wispy white runners atop natural wood farmhouse style tables.

Charleston chic: A dreamy spring wedding in light blue and white
A Charleston wedding that dares to be timeless in these trendy times
Brianna was a sophisticated knockout in her strapless Vera Wang gown with an oversized bow fastened to the train. As gorgeous as the bride was, she could not compete with her son Brady, who stole the show in his white dinner jacket and boutonniere. One look and he could charm the heart of any wedding guest – or cause mom and dad to break out into joyous smiles. The couple exchanged their vows under the signature white trellis of the William Aiken House, veiled with wild green vines. Hand in hand the couple said “I do,” shared a kiss, and walked down the aisle for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Oates.
The wedding party dined and danced under a billowing, pleated tent with incredible white and green florals suspended on gold chandeliers. Brianna changed into a silk slip dress and Nike's so that she could break it down on the dance floor with her best friends. Brendan took to the floor in his suspenders and wayfarer sunglasses and led an epic dance party that lasted for the rest of the night. And in his technicolor noise cancelling headphones, of course, little Brady sleepily watched mom and dad have the best time of their lives.
