It’s currently bridal market in NYC and one of the very first seasons I’ve missed in the last 5 years 😥. Family vacay in Disney happened last week, so I was busy park hopping with a confused-exhausted-irritable-but-oh-so-adorable one-year-old. But I’ve been doing my fair share of Insta stalking and crushing on all of the new fashions that will soon be available to all you newly-engaged ladies out there.
And Vera Wang, well, she and her team absolutely kiiiiiillllled it for the Spring 2019 season. I’ll leave you to your own thoughts on the collection - but we’re blown away. Not necessarily anything I’d wear down the aisle, but that’s because I’m a little more basic than brazen.
All you need to know is that the 12-piece range kind of makes you forget that white was ever really a bridal mainstay. Yes, that’s right, WTF. Feast your 👀👀👀 on a whole lot of color, texture, dimension, and daring design, all inspired by “the artistry and enchantment of painterly gowns in the Flemish mode, with a nod to Diaghilev’s “Ballets Russes.”

We’ll start with my favorite (for obvious reasons - see ‘basic’ reference☝). The VERA Blush and nude strapless silk ball gown with a multi- layered crinkle tulle skirt, accented by a hand draped tulle overlay and bougainvillea colored faille flowers.
The VERUSHKA Nude and goldenrod strapless silk A-line gown with classic corset inspired detailing, split away back, and a hand knotted bow accented by a multi- layered crinkle tulle skirt.
The ANNA Nude strapless silk ball gown with a scalloped neckline and a multi-layered crinkle tulle skirt, accented with a violet hand painted hem and a forest green hand fringed silk organza flower.
