What started out as an office friendship over a decade ago, ultimately blossomed into a partnership built on the foundation of love, trust, laughs, and eating! This couple got married on April 22, 2022 in Tuscany at Villa Corsini with event planning by Italian Wedding Event. The destination wedding not only celebrated their love for travel, but more specifically their love affair with Italy. Italy was their first international trip together and they keep returning back, drawn to its beautiful cities and the delicious food.
Though planning a destination wedding internationally was not without its challenges at the peak of the pandemic, the couple truly enjoyed it. They saw it as an opportunity to plan a getaway for family and friends where they could share with them one of their favorite places in the world. The couple's first order of business was to find a local wedding planner who would help them navigate the logistics and details of their wedding while thousands of miles away. They found their planner-extraordinaire in Federica Nascimben, owner of Italian Wedding Event. She made every step of wedding planning seamless but also a collaborative effort. She listened to all of our concerns and ideas, left no stone unturned, and made the impossible possible.
The bride and groom's special day was held in Villa Corsini, which was not only a beautiful venue that has the Tuscan Hills as its backdrop, but it also catered to multiple scenarios, including moving the whole ceremony indoors if needed due to weather. This type of flexibility was one tip the bride highly recommended to any future brides.
There were many special moments during the wedding, but one of the bride's favorites was when Julian Kanz (the photographer) made the brilliant suggestion of taking a walk around Florence to capture the bride and groom against the city’s famous backdrops, before making their way to Villa Corsini. It was surreal for the bride to walk around the city in her wedding dress while the locals yelled “Auguri” to congratulate them as they walked by.
Because the wedding was in Italy, the couple knew they could forego some of the typical things that most weddings called for - like a photo booth - since the venue backdrop were the rolling hills of Tuscany. They also focused on providing their guests the most delicious food with the most lavish menu that included, but was not limited to: hot truffle and cheese beignets; rosemary bruschetta with porcini mushrooms and truffle oil; zucchini flowers; pappa al pomodoro with buffalo mozzarella pearls and fresh basil; homemade mezzelune stuffed with pecorino cheese, pear velouté and toasted pine-nuts; and veal fillet with vinsanto wine sauce. The dessert was an Italian cake - millefoglie - and it was created at the labyrinth garden in front of the guests.

The music throughout the night was comprised of a string trio during the ceremony and the cocktail hour, during which they played some of the couple's favorite songs. For the after-party/reception, the music turned over to a DJ. The bride and groom took dance lessons prior to so they would feel confident. They knew they didn't want a slow song for their first dance, so they went with Everlasting Love - a more upbeat song. For the rest of the party, the DJ opted to play non-stop upbeat music to keep the energy up.
"When we get asked if we had any regrets from the wedding, we honestly cannot think of one! We listened to our instincts (along with Federica’s guidance) every step of the way and focused on what we really cared about instead of doing something because it was “expected.” When we look at the photos and videos from that day, we cannot stop smiling at the joy and love that surrounded us that day."
