Let’s Toast to This Bridgerton-Inspired, Tented Spring Wedding

In July of 2017, Tom hosted a Fourth of July party, and Samantha tagged along with some friends. Their friends had been attempting to set them up for years, but the timing had never worked out. This time, however, they instantly clicked, and they made plans to hang out almost every weekend for the rest of the summer. After about four years of dating, Tom knew it was time to ask Samantha to marry him. When his initial proposal plan hadn't worked out, Tom knew he couldn't wait any longer and got down on one knee in the street.  Swanson Signature Events helped Tom and Samantha create the wedding of their dreams at Oldfield River Club.  The day included florals by Missy Gunnels Flowers, an incredible cake by Bloom Custom Cakes, and an amazing Bridgerton-inspired soundtrack courtesy of Island Sound DJs.  Keep scrolling to hear more about this incredible day and to see all of the photos taken by the talented Meredith Ryncarz Photography.

For their wedding, the pair took their inspiration from the show Bridgerton. Modern string music from the soundtrack played throughout the day to set the tone. The cake and floral arrangements were heavily inspired by the show's aesthetic, with a vibrant pastel color palette. Samantha wore a chic and classic off-the-shoulder gown, with her bridesmaids in neutral tan shades.

The couple shared their vows during their first look, making for an emotional and memorable moment. After the fountain-side courtyard ceremony, guests moved to the tented reception for dinner. Guests were guided to their seats by the custom-built champagne wall made by her family, with Samantha and her mom collecting over ninety vintage champagne glasses.

Advice from the bride: "Absolutely hire a planner if you can!! Our planner was so incredibly helpful in finalizing the small details for us and allowed us to sit back and enjoy our wedding day instead of having to monitor set-up, etc. on the day of. Also, ensure that your venue is entirely transparent with you about their service fees and what those mean. Both myself and a friend who is also a bride encountered that detail very late in the game, and it was an added cost we had not factored into our budget."
