When Lauren was choosing wedding dresses before her big day, she couldn't decide between two different (completely different!) gowns. So, what's a girl to do? That's right...buy them both!! Who wouldn't like to have options on such an important day? So on Lauren and John's big day, Lauren had two dresses from which to choose. She chose to wear an ivory Reem Acra gown that featured sparkling jewel-encrusted crystal cap sleeves and a gathered twist sweetheart neckline. This dress was also worn by Olivia Wilde at the 2009 Emmy Awards.....pretty neat!
You can't buy two wedding dresses and then let the other just sit in the closet. The second dress (and the one that she didn't choose to wear on her wedding day) was a Monique Lhuillier in Peony with a sweetheart neckline. She chose to start out in this dress for the photo shoot and ended in the Reem Acra, that was worn on her wedding day. She paired these dresses with rosy-colored Nina heels with ruffled detailing on the sides. Jewels and hair accessories were loaned from Something New Bridal Boutique, the same boutique she purchased her dress from, located in Mobile, AL. Lauren works there now-what a fun job!
The shoot took place at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. The couple lives nearby and were always either running on campus or having a picnic in the courtyard. When they saw the rose bushes and trees in bloom, they knew this was the perfect location for their Anniversary Shoot. Who doesn't like to get all dressed up and how fun to wear your wedding dresses again?! We took photos along the Avenue of the Oaks and at Stewartfield, the home where the tables were set up. Twist Cupcakes provided Champagne and Red Velvet (John's favorite) cupcakes for the shoot. Other desserts included: Valentine bite-sized cookies, m&m's, and heart-shaped brownies displayed in a handmade favor box.
