Life is always unexpected! Sometimes when we least expect it, the love of our life is introduced to us one night, and we don’t know it then, but we feel something special. A spark. A moment where the whole world just disappears. For Haifa and Sabrina, it was something like that, only 6 years later — love at second sight! See more of this beautiful wedding in the gallery.
Life took Sabrina back to the West Coast where she made a life in Seattle. Haifa stayed and went to college in Tampa. They didn’t stay in touch but reconnected at the age of 25 on Facebook.
There was an instant connection and before they knew it, they were talking every day. After 7 months of long distance, Sabrina made the move back to Florida where they signed an apartment lease before ever having spent an entire night together — and never looked back.
They’ve spent the last 10 years exploring new places and going on adventures together, with their next big adventure being their wedding.
It was months in the making, and when Sabrina and Haifa first reached out to me, I knew I had to be their photographer. Their love was pure and it was really sweet to see 2 souls so connected and so in love.
Sabrina and Haifa started their wedding day at neighboring airbnb tiny homes in the heart of Ybor city. It was so darling! Their first look was on the steps of each tiny home, and the anticipation they both felt was so cute. I absolutely adored their excitement to see each other!
After their first look, we made our way to the Creative Loafing Space. This space is so fun in many ways. The brick, the history, the privacy.
“We live in Dunedin but chose the CL Space venue in Ybor because of the rustic/industrial charm, we love the exposed brick and concrete floors. Tampa Bay Area is our home and we love that so many of our friends will be able to attend,” Sabrina explains.
The thing I love most about this space though? The chickens appearing during their ceremony! Ybor city, known for its wild chickens and roosters, made sure that their most special guests were there to cheer them on. The chickens flocked around the ceremony, adding to the charm of their day.
Sabrina and Haifa’s inspiration for the day was an ode to their personalities.
“We went for a relaxed and fun vibe by serving some of our favorites: wood fired pizza, whiskey old fashioneds, and a sweets candy bar.”
The people were the most important element for Sabrina and Haifa. So it’s no wonder that the reception was a top priority. They danced the rest of the night with their friends and family, accompanied by fresh coal fire pizza and custom drinks — the perfect combo for a night to remember.
