A Song Influenced This Bride’s Wedding Dress + Their Entire Wedding Track List

Wedding couple hiding faces with record covers in a record store

Our next bride, Erica, went to Lovely in Seattle, a bridal shop to look for her wedding dress. As she  shimmied into the Wyatt Dress, the perfect song started to play, and she instantly knew that this was the dress she was going to wear when she said, "I Do." If you want a real visual, Anchor by Sarah Juers was playing. Listen to this pretty song here

"As I was trying it on, the vibe convinced me that this would be the dress that I will get married in."

Music is an influential part of Erica and Jeremy's relationship, so they took a moment to snap some photos at a local record store with their wedding party. How fun is that?

Music again has and is still is a huge part of our life and our journey together. Jeremy used to make me playlists and CDs when we dated, and as my husband he still does. Music to us sparks so many stories and reminds us of different memories and shared events. I think it's so special we can listen to these songs and be immediately reminded of the feelings of our wedding day and brought back to those meaningful moments.

Guess What? I reached out to Erica and asked if she'd share her play list with us, and she was so amazing and sent every last song. Please scroll down to peruse Erica and Jeremey's wedding play list. You're going to love it!

Although music is a driving force between these two, so is their Filipino culture. It played a big part in their decor, food, and overall wedding vibe. Erica goes into more detail and explains how they carefully incorporated their heritage into their special day and created a music-filled, modern Filipino wedding. You can view all the photos from their Seattle wedding here. How We Planned Our Big Day

From the bride:I have a passion for event planning and making my Pinterest dreams come to life! Wedding Planning wasn’t bad at all. I felt confident and tried to stay positive throughout the process. We went to expos, open houses, etc.

What I found to be most important, was to invest in your vendors. Take the time to meet with your vendors and invest in them as humans.

All the vendors we booked have become our friends, and we appreciate them so much. We owe a lot of our wedding's success to them as they made the whole process less nerve-wracking to the end.

Our Wedding Inspiration

From the bride: Jeremy and I are both Filipino Americans. We're both deeply rooted in our culture. Our culture is reflected a lot in our relationship as our ancestors' stories embody bravery, sacrifice, love, and resilience.

Unfortunately, not all of them lived to see our wedding, but Jeremy knew that both of our understandings of love came from the love they showed us. So, it was only right we had a modern Filipino wedding that still reflected us as a couple and as Filipino Americans. We had a special Memoriam that displayed Grandpa and Grandma's wedding picture in the Philippines, and old photos of Jeremy's Grandparents dancing to Stevie Wonder songs when they were younger.

What made our wedding unique

The groomsmen cried way more than the bridesmaids, and anyone else in the room. There is another photo in the gallery of one of the groomsmen crying while giving a speech. See it here.

SHOWCASING THEIR CULTURE

Our culture wasn’t just displayed through the ceremonial cord and veil, but the whole aesthetic of the wedding embodied our homeland from tropical florals with monstera leaves and Filipino desserts such as Puto and Ube cheesecake.

The natural lighting as if we were in the Philippines where it’s sunny and. I also wore a traditional Flipinana and Barong during the traditional money dance.

Everyone enjoyed that food and was even singing along to the songs as they were eating. Typical Filipino party right there. Everyone got up to do the electric slide, and we all danced the night away, singing along to all our favorite songs.

The way the wedding played out was just perfect. We were being surrounded by so much love, with the people we love, celebrating our love. We view our wedding and this marriage as such a blessing and know that our ancestors are up there celebrating with us.
