Alo and Javi knew they wanted a destination wedding before they were even engaged, so once it became official it was pretty much set in stone that they would be wed in one of their favorite places, Tepoztlán, Mexico.
With the perfect location in mind they set out to create a one-of-a-kind experience for all their guests. From their cool circle ceremony to their fun custom logo and all the boho inspired decor throughout, their wedding weekend just keeps getting better and better. So without further ado, grab a closer look below and be sure to visit the full gallery for more candid moments from Memory Box Photographie.
From the grooms: From day one, we both decided we wanted a Mexican wedding. We started planning everything, we had so many ideas, and so many things we wanted to do but it was also hard planning it from afar. We knew exactly the style we wanted, the Boho colors and elements we wanted but had no idea on how to actually make it happen. And the result turned out to be exactly what we wanted.
We woke up super early in the morning, the excitement was huge, we could not believe the day has arrived, our day! One of our favorite moments was when we were getting ready, it all became so real, and Javi pulled out a surprise, he had made our cufflinks with our logo faces, the perfect touch. When we came down and saw everything ready in the garden for the ceremony, I remembered thinking this is just how I imagined it and even better! The circle around the huppah, with our faces painted on top (we wanted a really cool drone picture) the excitement kept on growing by each thing we saw, every detail. The colors, the flowers, the papel picado, the fountain in memory of our grandparents, everything just the way we had planned it.
It’s such an amazing feeling to turn your head and wherever you look, to see someone you know and love, Javi says it was like being inside our “real life Facebook” and I don’t think there’s a better description for that, because there were so many friends and people we probably had not seen in years, and there they were, waiting for us and ready to celebrate our love during the whole weekend.
Chinelos, burrito, musical band, small ceramic (clay) jars for each guest to drink mezcal or tequila, colors everywhere, it was a dream come true. So many people around us dancing and having fun. Our photographers from Memory Box Photography had brought some color smoke bombs, and we turned them on, it was probably one of my favorite moments. You could see the colors everywhere.
