Considered one of the prettiest canopies on the caldera, the boutique hotel Sun Rocks was the scenic location for Jessica and Darren's intimate wedding, and just look at that view! This is what getting married in Santorini is all about folks.
They kept the decor simple with accents of dusty pink throughout the whitewashed setting. And let's just talk about the gorgeous blooms for a moment, because that ceremony arbor is everything! From the bride: For the proposal, Darren took me and our puppies to our favorite park to watch the sunset. He was nervous, so he kept commenting on the weather. I remember it was 72 degrees, the sky was clear and blue, and the sun was bright and warm. We threw a few sticks and toys for the pups and I sat down to enjoy the sunset. A few seconds later, I heard him behind me. I turned around and he was on one knee. I immediately started crying. I cried throughout his whole speech, I cried while saying “yes,” and I cried as he put the ring on my finger. After the park, he surprised me with dinner at my favorite restaurant with my friends and family. It all felt so surreal.
From StellaAndMoscha: When one in getting married in a place as extraordinary as Santorini, they need to consider the view as part of the wedding and not just the backdrop. Our task was to take the bride’s ideas and style and add elements that would complement the venue and the view, without dictating the scenery. We picked colours, flowers, and greenery that created a contrast to the white and blue background, and introduced a little romance to the whole theme with dusty rose silk ribbons, sparkling fabrics and the all-time classic candlelight flickering away all night.
A few months into the wedding planning we found out that the couple are huge doughnut lovers. So, giving the dessert table the “light” that it deserved was something that we just had to do. We were lucky as Sunrocks has one of the cutest canopies on the caldera and we added fairylights all around it creating a curtain of lights around the table with the most intricate and dreamy cake and, of course, the stacks of freshly made, chocolaty doughnuts, half of which we took back to their suite at the end of the night. The fairylights made the terrace look magical against the darkness of the Santorini cliffs, resembling a glorious sparkling gem in the night that was the little corner in the universe where they started the rest of our lives together.
