A 90% chance of severe thunderstorms would easily send any bride into panic mode, but Brittany and Michael didn’t let the dire and potentially disastrous forecast for their wedding at Ashton Hill Farm dampen their spirits.
With a little help on their side, their wedding turned out completely rain-free, and we’re so happy it did because their white-washed, organic day is what wedding dreams are made of! From the bride: We started the morning right...with Starbucks and mimosas of course! I set aside some me-time when everyone started getting hair and makeup done to read notes that my bridesmaids and close woman in my family wrote to me a few months back for me to read on my wedding day. Let's just say I was in tears when I started getting my makeup done! I also made sure to set aside alone time with my Heavenly Father. I knew that I would cherish that moment forever. Once we were all ready and after our adorable pictures in our robes from Le Rose, it was time for the first looks. All three of them were so magical and full of emotion.
God turned the 90% chance of severe thunderstorms into the most beautiful day imaginable for Iowa! We had our ceremony outside of the venue under a beautiful white-washed wooden arbor made my White's Woodworking. Our ceremony was my dream come true. After our pastor gave me the most meaningful message of marriage in Christ, Michael's vows to me had my crying like a baby which is very clear in the photos! We then signed our marriage license and lit our unity candle.
We had hand calligraphy banners of two very special bible verses made by the talented Ettie Kim. The banner that reads, "And the Two Shall Become One" was placed above a gorgeous silver settee (from Unique Events) and vintage rug (from Borrow My Vintage) and was used as our photo booth station! The other banner reading "We love because He first loved us" was placed above our coffee bar station. We hold these scriptures dear to our hearts and looking back at our wedding photos to see them front and center, reminds us of why we are married in the first place.
