Armed with three colors that inspired her and her solid fashion knowledge, our next bride jumped headlong into the wedding planning process. And from one creative to another, I tip my metaphorical hat to her; the whole day had a feeling of wholeness and felt so put together it could have been straight out of a magazine.

From the Bride Heather Poppie:
For our wedding, we wanted to it be simple, earthy, and most importantly, a reflection of us. I have always loved the look of a whimsical, ethereal wedding - my wedding Pinterest board shows all organic, simple yet elegant ideas! I have always been drawn to blush, sage, and navy blue. Something about those colors together is so beautiful to me so of course, we incorporated them into our wedding day.
It was such a beautiful thing to see all our ideas come to life. I think the most important thing was making sure our wedding felt like us. I had a very specific vision when it came to the overall aesthetic of our wedding, but we really wanted to have little elements that people could say, “Oh this is totally Heather and Chris.” I really couldn’t have dreamt up a more perfect day.
We were beyond lucky to have the best vendors and team to help put together our dream day. Here are some of MY favorite parts of my special day:
I really loved that Chris and I decided to do a first look. It was such an intimate, raw moment for us. Chris’s reaction to seeing me was a moment I will never forget.
We knew we wanted a unique location, so The Quarry was the perfect venue for us! Our guests still rave about how unique and beautiful the setting was.
For my wedding dress, I always knew I wanted a fit and flare style with an open back! I had actually intended to have sleeves with my dress, but when I came across “the one”, I fell in love with the simple, timeless look of it. We altered the straps a bit from the original one and replaced the original rhinestone straps with lace ones! We took the lace from the bottom of my dress and used it to make the straps which I loved. I chose the “Erika” veil from Sara Gabriel. For jewelry, I wore their Tesla and their Emily bracelet. I also gifted my bridesmaids their Pippa earrings in gold/clear!
I really loved my bridesmaid's robes- the colors were so similar to our wedding colors!
I loved my loose curls by Claudia Moore. Claudia has been doing my cut and color for over a year now, so of course, I was going to have her do my wedding hair!!
The boys looked so handsome and their navy blue suits fit them so well! I loved that my bridesmaids wore various Jenny Yoo dress styles all in the sage tone and that we mixed in a few tulle dresses as well to add more texture.
My bouquet turned out perfect and I loved the touch of Anemones (the white flowers with the blue center) which tied in the navy blue suits really well.
The entire wedding planning process, from your engagement all the way to the end of your honeymoon is such a surreal, special time of your life. Really take the time to soak up every little moment because it really does go by in the blink of an eye. Things may get stressful, but it really does all work out in the end. On your wedding day, take everything little thing in. From waking up and getting ready with your closest girls, to the first dance, to getting sent off at the end of the night – take it all in and savor it because you only get that day once. And make sure to hit up the dance floor, and dance your heart out with your new hubby!!
