After 13 years of dating, Travis and Felicia finally said their “I dos” at the gorgeous Terra Mia Vineyards in California. Their picturesque day was one for the books with dreamy florals, modern chic decor, and lots of personal nods for those that couldn't be there.
From the gorgeous cake trio, to the cute photo bus, their wedding was fun-filled and totally beautiful from start to finish. Carlie Statsky was there with camera in hand to capture it all, so keep scrolling and don’t miss out on the full gallery after.
Words from the bride: After dating for years, Travis decided to propose on our 13th anniversary, my lucky number. In what we would have expected to be the happiest time of our lives, our engagement was elongated by the loss of our closest family members; we unexpectedly lost 3 of our parents in a 2 year time span, in addition to a very special aunt and 99 year old grandmother. To say the least, wedding planning didn't start out as easy and as fun as we thought it would. We struggled with finding the "perfect" venue for a long time, but the moment we stepped foot onto the property at Terra Mia, it was immediately where we saw ourselves getting married with our loved ones surrounding us.
Finding the venue kick-started our planning, which is when I got wrapped up in all the details. Many of which were inspired by us wanting to acknowledge our lost loved ones. The look of our wedding started with our save the date and invitation suite which were heavily influenced by my obsession with succulents, which had to be a main staple in our florals. Acknowledgment of our loved ones was prominent throughout the day. Our florist kindly incorporated cymbidium orchids from plants that I inherited from my father, which belonged to his mother and have been around for decades. She also incorporated them into bouquets that we used to 'save seats' for the loved ones we'd lost, to join us in spirit on our wedding day.
We made some 'out of the ordinary' touches for our guests; we didn't want anyone to be thirsty! We welcomed guests to the wedding with a glass of champagne, and as they walked to their seat at the ceremony, champagne buckets lined the aisles so that everyone could refill as they pleased during the ceremony. With the headers wide open on the 31 Ford Coupe, I roared from out of sight, down to the venue, and walked myself down the aisle to applause, cheers, and plenty of tears (at least on my part). Our officiant took a few moments to ring a 'singing bowl' 5 times during the ceremony, as an opportunity for all of the guests to remember the ones we'd lost. And after we exchanged our vows and rings... We partied the night away!
Our guests drank cocktails, ate oysters at the oyster bar, and continued to drink our specially bottled wedding wine from Travis' uncles winery - and when the liquid courage set in, everyone enjoyed getting into the Photo Bus to take pictures. We've relived our wedding day a thousand times already, and the pictures will remind us of how special that day was for the rest of our lives.
