When you think about the colors red and gold together, it tends to put you in the mood for late December not late summer. Well get ready to have us open your eyes to the color palette possibilities with this next wedding day in Napa, California. Bold color choices aren't the only thing that has us all googly-eyed over this big day, the stunning floral design and a build your own Gin and Tonic bar also grabbed our attention!
So if you are loving the bold red and golds of this family owned vineyard wedding and wish there was a way for you to have been there to see even more of it, we have a little good news. No, not an invitation and a time machine, we have a full gallery of all these images plus more thanks to the photography skills of J Wiley Photography. Not quite as great as seeing it in person, but oh so close. Enjoy!
From Cassy Rose Events: Alejandra and Jason met while studying public policy at Berkeley. Jason was a year ahead of Alejandra in school and was assigned to be her "Gold Buddy," an older student who could be a helpful resource in getting acclimated to the program. The rest, as they say, is history.
While most of Alejandra's family traveled from her native Colombia, the family owns a vineyard in Napa where the event was hosted. They wanted to incorporate personal touches (like their love for gin with a "Build your own G&T" bar at cocktail hour) and their love for wine country with a romantic vineyard aesthetic.
From the Bride: We both ultimately had the same goals for the day, but were coming from different starting points, so it was important to clearly lay out our priorities at the very beginning of the planning process: Most important was our marriage, second was throwing a great party for all of our loved ones, third was the wedding (i.e. the aesthetic aspects I was bound to get distracted by). That refrain reminded us to use the planning process to strengthen rather than stress our relationship; made it easy to allocate a large share of the budget to music, booze, and food; and helped me focus my energy into the key aesthetic pieces I really cared about (flowers, flowers, and paper!).
Beyond that, hire an awesome wedding planner that you trust, enjoy hanging out with, and who knows how to wind you down when necessary. Cassy was an absolute life saver.I knew going into wedding planning that a) I am am huge perfectionist that had already spent a LOT of time dreaming about my ideal wedding, and b) things were bound to go wrong. So one of my New Year's resolutions for 2016 was to enjoy my wedding day, and I spent the following nine months practicing letting things slide. Any time something (wedding related or not) didn't go perfectly, I forced myself to let it go and literally viewed it as practice for the wedding. It worked!
