Who here wishes their wedding day could have lasted a few more hours? What if you could've had 24 more hours? That is just what our next bride did when she discovered she couldn't fit everything she wanted into one day. Her solution... make it last TWO days! And what a blow out party it was, beginning with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at Utah's Louland Falls and finishing up the next evening at The Bungalow with a fun filled reception.
There is tons to see at Lauren and Michael's hot pink and purple two day wedding so don't forget to check out the full gallery here. This 48 hour celebration was captured beautifully by Evelyn Eslava.
From the Bride:Our wedding was a two day event. We got married on June 7th 2013 in Salt Lake City at Louland Falls and celebrated the next evening at The Bungalow in my home town of Pleasant Grove, on June 8th. Louland Falls was the perfect place for Michael and I as it was nestled up in Parley's Canyon surrounded by nature. It created a beautiful backdrop that complimented our color palette perfectly.
I wore my great grandmother's wedding ring as my something old, it was very special for me to have her with me. We got married in the morning with our closest friends and family. I walked out to one of our favorite songs "Say Yes" by Elliot Smith- which was a sweet surprise for Michael. It truly was a beautiful day and we were lucky it wasn't too hot.
Having a two day wedding was the best choice we made because after we had the rest of the day to relax, go out to dinner (at the place Michael proposed), be married, and play at our hotel.
I'm also big into quilting, so instead of a traditional sign in book we went with quilt squares to sign. I felt like I would go back and look at it more instead of having signatures tucked away in a book.
My goal for our reception was for it to be a big party with good food and tons of fun. We had a receiving line, so while they waited there was a display table of our relationship with pictures and some cross-stitches I made. When we started dating Michael made me the best "mixtapes" (playlists) and so I typed up my favorite lyrics from a few songs and framed them.
Our receiving line took way longer than we had expected, so we weren’t able to take a break and grab some of the awesome food or just look at the all the decorations. If we could do it all over again we would have paid for an extra hour at the beginning to hang out with our friends and family and take everything in.
There are also a lot of children between the two of our families, so we had a photo booth area with a DIY backdrop and props. After all of the wedding traditions- first dance, bouquet toss, etc. we had a great dance party filled with songs from high school like 'Get Low' by Ludacris and some classic Kelly Clarkson. It was the best two days of our lives!!!
