The bride gave the groom a locally made custom long board as a wedding gift before the ceremony. The bride and groom gifted their bridal party with Hawaiian Print shirts and sun dresses. The bride also gave her bridesmaid locally made purses by Samudra.
The bride is originally from Oahu though she now lives in San Francisco with her groom. They had a very local style wedding with local hawaiian food including a whole luau pig, and local dance and music. They gave guests locally made soaps from The North Shore Soap Factory and cupcakes as favors.
From the Bride:I wouldn't change anything because I thought it went better than we both expected. The rain cut the party short, however our guests loved it (didn't stop them from dancing in the rain), we had more time to visit with guests having intimate talks under the big tent, and the party continued with another big dance party at the hotel Surfer Bar. I would have loved if time slowed down the day of the wedding. As the bride, I felt I missed a lot. Thus, I am looking forward to watching our wedding video from Kai Media to catch all the missed precious moments.
The bride danced a hula for her groom at the reception and she also dressed in a traditional tahitian dance costume for the money dance. Hawaiian dancers entertained guests and even taught the groom some nice moves. The rain started to pour at the end of the reception, but their guests still danced it up soaking wet, not letting a little tropical weather get them down!
