From Heartwood Images: This is my first ever styled session as a photographer. It is something I've wanted to do forever. It allowed me to take a moment from the busy season and use my creativity to put something together. I knew I wanted to have a relaxed boho set up and went from there. I wanted to showcase a very low cost design as well, both for future brides to know it can be done and also to make this session as cost effective as possible. Most things are thrifted and repurposed.
I came across Nourishing Hearts Wellness Care Farm online and knew I had to work with them. They are just starting to open their grounds to weddings but what they do is amazing. They have numerous therapy animals that they use for improving the physical, social and mental health of clients. They offer animal and nature assisted therapy for youth and adults including those with dementia and unique needs. You can even sponsor their therapy animals here. It is such a beautiful location with a beautiful mission. My favourite is Cornelius, the potbellied pig who roams around hunting for sweets and seems to always be there when you want to give him a pet.
I picked up pallets off the side of the road, sanded, stained and put some mini legs on them. I took bamboo sticks from the dollar store and stained them to create the teepee. All pillows and rugs were thrifted, the linens used on the tables and teepee were a $3 bed sheet from the thrift store as well. At the last minute I came across our decorator Boho Babe Wedding Creations who helped me pull it all together.
Our models just got married two weeks ago, so fresh off their honeymoon they came and did it all again. They even tried to recite their vows off memory which ended in laughs as the groom, Geoff accidentally started to copy the vows from a friends wedding. The wind was crazy and the sunset even crazier. It was a beautiful night for all vendors to come together and create something beautiful.
