The inspiration for this shoot actually came from the tropical decor trend going on. The tropical trend always has so much going on, it is vibrant, whimsical, and just feels exciting. Darcy Hummel with Dahlia Events & Designs and Ashley Hepworth with Ashley McKenzie Photography were determined to have fun with this shoot, and they definitely did!
One aspect taken from the tropical trend was the layering of different
textures! Darcy wanted to pair texture with upbeat, vibrant colors. To
do this they borrowed geodes, and agate slices from Nature's Own in
Boulder, CO. If we posted all the prettiness this shoot has to offer it would go on for days! Check out all the additional details in the full gallery.
From Dahlia Events & Designs and Ashley McKenzie Photography: All of the vendors got so creative with this shoot – and we’re so glad they did because we wanted them to feel free to showcase things they normally wouldn't. We loved all the unique pieces everyone came up with. The colors were chosen from the agate slices Bezalel & Babel designed for the dinner place settings. Those truly were the center of the rest of the design. They inspired Loud River Creative’s invitation & menu designs that mimicked the natural patterns in the agate slices. In addition the agate slices inspired the watercolor escort cards, and banners that were hand painted and dip dyed by Bezalel & Babel.
All of the flowers that you see in the ceremony backdrop piece were tended and cared for in the Farmette Garden. We loved the way Helen with Farmette Flowers brought the garden dinner setting and ceremony by the river together with her uniquely creative ceremony backdrop design. The cactus table numbers contrasted so well with the sparkle of the stones, and made for a very unique tablescape. We chose the Farmette Garden as the setting for dinner because it is so intimate and full of life. Flowers, golden sunlight and sweetly spoken alpacas surround the garden and make is a truly charming place. Kristy Grubb created personal floral pieces full of interest using bright colors and texture for the bouquet and boutonniere, as well as the table centerpieces and floral decor for the bar.
Geodes also influenced one of the crafted cocktails made by Garnish
Bartending. You can see the rock candy peeking out of the glass.
Even the desserts made by the Bumblebee Truck were filled with a
luscious fruity theme, and are colorfully decorated with edible
confections.
Each vendor brought their A game in every creative aspect of this shoot.
It was really something special for all of us to be a part of, and
create together.”
