The Dress: By Watters Mattea Gown
Every time bridal market (or Bridal Fashion Week, if you’re feeling particularly editorial 💁♀️), bridal designers bring a very specific, very intentional vision of the fashion that’s about to be viral in the world of vows - but this season, in the midst of a very long, very tumultuous COVID-torn set of circumstances, there’s only one thing on wedding trend tastemakers’ minds: to give brides something to smile about again. And BHLDN is delivering on that charge, tenfold, with a new guard of gowns and dresses that aren’t meant to leave anyone out. Every bride can find something to wear to her wedding and feel confident that it’ll fit the vibes of the venue, the occasion, and the pledges, so vehemently. Not to say that happiness has faded from the wonders of weddings these days, but it has certainly been compromised. That’s why we’re pumped to see BHLDN unveiling a collection that says “I got married during a global pandemic, and it was perfect. Period.”
The Spring 2021 collection from BHLDN features 12 fresh looks, including several additions to the brand’s recently-launched Plus collection.
The Dress: Watters Malone Gown
“As we look ahead to 2021, we’ve also taken a moment to reflect on 2020. We’ve heard from countless brides-to-be who have responded to uncertainty and disappointment with incredible resilience, taking a change in plans as an opportunity to honor their love stories with intimate, unconventional, and deeply personal celebrations. Our Spring 2021 gowns are inspired by these remarkable brides. Filled with versatile silhouettes, emotive details, and only-at-BHLDN designs, our newest collection invites the bride to celebrate her wedding, her way.” ~ Lori Conley, BHLDN’s General Merchandise Manager
We won’t say that 2020 has come with very many positives, it’s been quite painful, tbh. But given how pulse-shaking the uncertainty has been, it’s also made couples and their closest confidants (friends and family) realize that an event like a wedding shouldn’t come with prescriptives. It’s up to the couple to ‘choose their own adventure’ and it should come with zero caveats.
But we’re willing to bet that they’ll last a lifetime. That’s what happens when entire moods, movements, and momentum replace fragile and fleeting motifs.
The Dress: Willowby by Watters Gambelle Gown
As brides embrace intimate backyard weddings and unexpected venues, BHLDN has designed gowns with details to match, focusing on thoughtful embellishments like textural embroidery and Guipure lace.
The Dress: Catherine Deane Sidney Gown
These gowns invite a touch of grandeur into quiet moments of celebration. Perfect for the bride planning a small yet romantic event, they feature luxe details like sequin-scattered lace and pearl-studded tulle.
The Dress: Sophie et Voila Avignon Gown
These gowns offer a ‘less is more’ approach for the unconventional bride. Modern silhouettes suit courthouse weddings, rooftop ceremonies and every venue in-between, while welcoming the addition of unique finishing touches.
And let us just say that BHLDN’s “Parisian Chic” take is hardly Lily Collins-curated. Like, 'wearing poetry' is cute, but wearing your wedding vows? SO MUCH STRONGER 👍
The Dress: Sophie et Voila Grazie Gown
Everything is ready for pre-order now, so if your nuptials are next up on your major-things-to-do list, then you’ll want to check all of it out. We’ve got heart eyes for the Sophie et Voila Grazie Gown, but that also might just be courtesy of crepe on our brains… #thankyouforthatEIP.
