A nutritionist once told me that if you make each of your meals a special experience, then you will eat better food, eat less and be healthier. Plus, you are able to reconnect and engage with your partner in a truly healthy way. Obviously I can see the logic behind it, however, I do not have a personal chef or the time to plan out meals and shop for all the ingredients. Who does? In reality, nobody.
Then, I learned about Green Chef. They would deliver everything to my front door that I needed to create tasty meals. I wouldn't have to scour Pinterest for recipes or run to the store and collect all the ingredients. It actually sounded too good to be true. The box was delivered and we needed an outside opinion. So, we asked our good friends who are wedding planning to test it out for us and give us their honest opinion on their entire experience. Here's what these two had to say about their evening with Green Chef.
We are both super busy with our jobs and life and often do not have time to prepare healthy meals, so we were both excited to try something new that we could prepare together.
The Green Chef box arrived and everything in it was incredibly fresh, well packed and super cold. The preparation was incredibly easy and took a little less than 30 minutes to prep and cook everything.
We worked together to prep the meal, and chatted about how we need to do this more often.
We were super excited to sit down and do some wedding planning and enjoy our jerk chicken tostadas. We decided to set the table and bring out our pretty dishes and cutlery all from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Typically, we eat fast and do not sit and chat. With the table set, we noticed that we wanted to hang out more and enjoy the experience.
Sometimes a cocktail can be equivalent in calories to a delicious piece of chocolate cake. All the mixers, juices, soda, tonic water, simple syrup and sugar rimmed glasses add up to a real caloric punch. Instead of eliminating your nighttime refreshment altogether, simply skinny your cocktail up. A few tips on how to skinny up your cocktails.
1. Add lots of limes and lemon to add a bit of flavor
2. Skip soda altogether and go with Sparkling Water like Pellegrino instead
3. Skip tonic altogether it has 100 calories per serving and go with club soda instead
4. If you really need sweet, add a sugar alternative like agave nectar instead of simple syrup
Speaking of skinny cocktails we whipped up this deliciously refreshing skinny pomegranate margarita that was light, low on calories, it paired perfectly with our tasty tostadas from Green Chef.

Combine ice, the agave, the pomegranate, blood orange and lime juice and the tequila in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and then pour into a chilled ice filled glass. Garnish with lime slices and pomegranate seeds.

We went over our wedding invites from Shine Invitations, sipped our cocktails and just enjoyed each other's company. All in all a successful evening! We agreed that we need to make this more of a habit.
For being only 580 calories per serving the Jerk Chicken Tostadas were outstanding. The chicken had a chipotle-spiced maple syrup that gave it a sweet flavor and on top was pickled red onions. We topped it off with the most delicious cilantro garlic crema. Hands down one of the best meals we've have ever had. Thanks Green Chef.
