How to Have a Parks and Rec-Style Wedding at The ROC Chalet
If Parks and Rec ever leaves Netflix, I’ll probably die. It’s the best, and I still just wish I could wake up tomorrow and be BFFs with Leslie Knope. But that’s just a side note from a huge fan… Any other diehard Parks people out there - recently-engaged - and looking for a place to plan your nuptials? Because we’re pretty sure we found your dream venue. The ROC Chalet in Georgina, Canada is the perfect place for outdoorsy+active couples to make it official. A little more about this picturesque place
The ROC Chalet is charming, yet sophisticated and features a full kitchen, large stone fireplace and a spectacular view. Pretty much the perfect setting for a wedding or special event (if you have an engagement party in the works, or are brainstorming a Galentine’s Day-style bridal shower). We’ll get to the venue in more detail later, but if you’ve always hoped to have your big day in a historic setting, then Georgina Pioneer Village is exactly where you need to have it. Perhaps you’re local, and have frequented the ROC (recreational outdoor campus) for a lot of date days throughout your relationship - tubing in the winter, rock climbing in the summer, or just hiking on the nature trails on sunny Sundays. Or maybe you’ve been on the hunt for a destination wedding locale that isn’t too far from home? Either way, the ROC is someplace YSK.
The 1889 Free Methodist Church can accommodate 60 people and up to 200 people at the bandstand and surrounding park. So, for anyone who’s only ever considered an al fresco ceremony, with photo opportunities nestled in nature, you’ll find your happy place here.
