The Bahamas are an absolutely breathtaking location for a destination wedding, and we're particularly fond of Nassau Paradise Island. The sunny skies, crystal clear aquamarine water, soft sandy beaches, and gorgeous greenery will leave your heart pounding, the perfect situation for a dreamy "I do".
We got a firsthand look at the islands and let's just say they exceeded all of our expectations, we were completely blown away! The options for wedding venues were endless and oh so pretty, each of them special in their own way. We know that planning your wedding from afar is easier said then done so we'll fill you in on some of our favorite choices to hopefully make your decision a little easier.
The Atlantis Paradise Island Resort is ridiculously gorgeous. We had the pleasure of staying at The Cove, one of the many stunning hotel options at Atlantis. The accommodations were beautiful, and the view was breathtaking. Looking out over the beach with beautiful blue ocean beyond was the perfect way to wake up each morning.
As for wedding venues Atlantis has a large variety of both indoor and outdoor spaces that can cater to the needs of any size wedding. One of our favorites is pictured below. Giant windows all around let in copious amounts of natural light that is nicely complimented by the romantic hanging lights. Right outside is a gorgeous stone patio with a perfect view of the sun setting over the beach.
If you're looking for an intimate and luxurious destination wedding we would recommend looking into the One&Only Beach Club. The grounds are pristine and private and you have your choice of lush green gardens or beautiful beaches.
The beach views are exquisite, but we were completely blown away by the gorgeous tiered Versailles Gardens with picturesque cloisters on the top tier. Seriously, just take a look at the pictures below and you'll know why we love it so much! Our second favorite aspect of this lovely location is the private spa rooms. Spend your wedding morning in bliss getting pampered with your beautiful bridesmaids.
When you step through the doors of Graycliff you feel like you've stepped into the tropical paradise version of a home away from home. The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm while retaining an air of grandeur. Did we mention they house the largest wine cellar in the entire Caribbean, and a chocolatier?
There are so many areas to choose from to say your "I do's" here, but their wedding planner has one special dream in mind that we hope one of you will make come true! Picture this: the stunning Graycliff pool above, the chairs and umbrellas cleared away, a glass walkway across the pool, a gorgeous floral arch on the other side, with flowers and candles floating throughout the pool. Dreamy much?
The British Colonial Hilton sits right on the ocean for all of you beach lovers! Rooted deep in history, yet recently renovated, the Hilton is a beautiful place to say your "I do's". If you're looking for an indoor venue their grand ballrooms are sure to sweep you away, or there is a pretty little chapel across the street perfect for intimate ceremonies.
Personally we're a bit biased and think if you fly to the Bahamas to get married you should make use of one of the gorgeous outdoor spaces they offer! Soak in the sunshine and the beach breezes. We also suggest some pre-wedding relaxation in their comfy outdoor canopy beds.
If you want to maximize your relaxation and socializing time during your stay in the Bahamas we'd like to suggest you make your way to the stunning Melia, an all-inclusive resort. The pools there are absolutely phenomenal and then you have the ocean just steps away. Add on some tasty restaurants, fun bar areas, and beautiful wedding venues, what more could you want?
We had the pleasure of dining under their gazebo area, pictured below to give you a little taste of what your wedding could be like, with full reception decor that was even prettier in person! Our favorite Melia venue was a sunny section of beach that had palm trees perfectly forming a wedding aisle. We would definitely say "I do"!
One of the many great things about The Bahamas is that after that final dance on your wedding evening you have two amazing options. Option one: you can opt to stay where you are and go straight to your hotel room for a romantic evening then honeymoon on Nassau Paradise Island, already surrounded by a tropical heaven.
Option two: you can choose to honeymoon on one of the nearby islands which will still give you the feeling of getting away from any residual wedding stress and privacy from any guests who choose to extend their Bahamas vacation beyond your wedding date.
