Whose ready to say Olé? Our next inspirational shoot is a fiesta. Overflowing with warm and inviting colors, and filled to the brim with unique details that are sure to inspire.
The entire day takes place in a Spanish style venue, and aside from looking gorgeous, the shoot features actual traditional customs, traditional Mexican desserts and details from Latin America. Capturing both romance and fun; you'll feel like you're actually celebrating a Mexican fiesta. Delve into all the delights this shoot has to offer in the full gallery here, captured beautifully by Katie Beverley.
The color palette was filled with hues that do not typically reflect the typical Spanish pallets. I chose a softer palette that included colors such as soft pinks. coral, aqua and white, with a splashes of blues and oranges. This gave the overall look the calm, peace, and serenity that you feel when you are surrounded by so much beautiful history from Leo Carrillo Ranch. The invitations made the shoot complete using the same color palette and incorporating Spanish wording. It tied it all in together so perfectly. This work was done by Dolldine Designs.
The floral half crown and full crown, from Succulently Urban, were beautifully made with pops of amazing color using the following: Four types of Succulent: Echeverias, Lola, Peacokii, Mazarine, and Subsessillis. The succulents were seemed with faux wired stems. Yellow, Orange and white Blosfeldiana blooms, Mini Pink Carnations or Dianthus, Tangerine spray roses, Sugar Diamond Limonium, Lily Grass. The boutonniere had a small mazarine and pink blossfeldiana blooms. We wanted to incorporate a fun romantic fiesta, so for the fun part we had a piñata, sombreros, and colorful Jarritos which are Mexican bottled flavored drinks. We think that the paper flowers that appeared throughout the shoot added to the fun whimsy as well.
We created a fun area that included a skull from Witty Rentals, a cart from Regenerate Rentals, a sign from Far Away Hood and accessories from A Rustic and Vintage Affair. The area was colorful and even included instructions on how to do a tequila shot. The stationery from Dolldine Design from San Diego added the perfect touch with its colors and graphics and "The Carrillo Cantina" rusty weathered sign added that special touch to the fun bar area.
The table design created by A Rustic And Vintage Affair was a mix of boho style with a Mexican twist. The vintage Mexican flower placemats were my inspiration to incorporate hand-crafted colorful paper flowers throughout the scene, as well. I added to the mix a potted succulent favor for the men guest and a pretty Spanish style heart for the ladies. Burlap & Bordeaux created table florals with such an amazing color and texture combination. The centerpiece was created with the following: Garden Roses, Peonies, Succulents, Anemones, Ranunculus, Curly willow, Hydrangea, Queen Anne's Lace. Peacock feathers were also added to the centerpiece because Leo Carrillo Ranch is known for its peacock farm.
The dessert table was an old buffet topped with mix and matched cake stands by Regenerate Rentals from San Diego, CA. The desserts were a mix of traditional Mexican desserts such as pan dulce, Mexican wedding cookies, and Mexican flan, and the other desserts, created by Jennywenny Cakes, were cupcakes with a succulent topper, colorful macaroons, and cookies decorated with sugar roses. Pan dulce, sweet bread, is one of the poster treats in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
The amazing cakes from Jennywenny Cakes sat atop a rustic piece of furniture and added texture to the scene. Each cake was gorgeous and fit seamlessly within the theme. We had "his and hers" smaller cakes that were pastel pink and pastel blue, and we placed them above corresponding "Mrs." and "Mr." signs and the main wedding cake was decorated in the most perfect and vibrant edible florals and succulents. Jenny's artistry was amazing. Of course, the vintage candles from Often Wander helped finish off the look when we placed them on the cake table.
