Do It Yourself, or DIY, wedding projects allow you to create your own personalized favors and touches that can be applied in any way you can imagine on your special day, for a shower, a party or whenever. All you need are some basic items and a little creativity.
These Mad Men Inspired Save The Date Invites Templates are inspired by Susie, our own Wedding Chick, who had a Mad Men inspired wedding of her own. They can be customized with your colors and other info. They're MAD. See them here and get started. We have lots more DIY project ideas here.
Design Tips from Susie:
1) The "IN" will always be the same color as the background color. "LOVE" is always white. Keep that in mind as you choose your other colors.
2) If you want the full bleed (so the color goes all the way to the edges of your paper), print each centered on a full sheet of letter size card stock, or save paper by printing two per sheet, with the design at a size of 6 inches wide by 4 inches high. Then trim them down to size with a paper cutter, or even easier, just take them to Kinkos and have them cut for you.
3) If you want to take the theme a step further, send them out as postcards with vintage stamps. I found a large selection of unused stamps from the early 60s on Ebay that we'll be using on ours.
4) If you'd like to use your own fonts and colors in the custom text area, just leave those fields blank when you create your image with our custom tool. Then you can open the file in another program, like Photoshop, and place your text in the fonts of your choice on top of the design.
