Rain Didn’t Dampen This Rustic Barn Wedding: A Beautiful Love Story

Bride and groom kissing under clear umbrella on their wedding day

This amazing couple didn't let a little rain interfere with their special day! Despite the weather they tied the knot as planned — in the Groom's Parents backyard. The nuptials were followed by a beautiful reception in a rustic red barn full of vintage decor. Feel free to peruse all of the details from this rustically vintage barn wedding by heading to the full gallery here, all magnificently captured by Three Nails Photography.

From the Bride:From my eyes the wedding was perfect. The start of the day was so lovely because I got to spend it with my closest girl friends. In the back of my mind, though, I was stressing about the possible rain. I worked so hard on styling the wedding and making it exactly how I wanted it to look, so I was praying and praying that my vision and vintage design was going to work out and the rain wouldn't ruin it.

My favorite moment was definitely when the doors opened at the ceremony right before I walked down the isle and I got to see my future husband, all my dearest friends, and everyone I love standing there waiting to watch me marry my love. It was an overwhelming feeling of joy and love.

During the ceremony the rain started coming down hard, but I was so glad I had my husband, Rhett by my side through it all. Knowing it was going to rain that day, Rhett bought 20 awesome umbrellas (enough for all the bridal party). It was such a blessing he got those because we were able to not get too wet while taking pictures.

After we took pictures, we got to go to the reception and be introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Rhett Sandusky. I just loved hearing my new name.

I personally thought our reception food was the most amazing meal ever. It was all my personal favorites: fried chicken, a mashed potato bar, Mac and cheese, corn bread, biscuits, potato salad and mini pies. Such a southern comfort meal.

After the dancing, catching up with family and friends, and the amazing sparkler send off, it was such a happy moment to drive off with my husband. Most brides probably wouldn't wish rain on their wedding day, but I wouldn't have changed one thing. It was the most magical, beautiful, vintage, friendly, relaxed, breath-taking wedding I could have ever dreamt of and I am so blessed to have had such a beautiful day.
