Spring Southern Charm Wedding Inspiration with a West Coast Twist
California meets the south in the most beautiful fashion at this gorgeous shoot from Rebecca Theresa Photography and CMG Weddings and Events. Their overall vision of a southern wedding with a west coast twist featured modern and classic details paired with over-the-top florals at the stunning Fenyes Mansion at the Pasadena Museum of History.
We especially love the chic dessert bar with the pink ruffle cake - the quintessential belle of the ball! Oh and have we mentioned the mobile popsicle stand yet?! Keep scrolling to read more about their process plus find more beautiful photos in the full gallery. Enjoy!
Southern Charm in California
From Rebecca Theresa Photography: Growing up on the east coast, I have always been a lover of all things southern. After recently moving to California and missing the East, I desperately wanted to bring the East to the West with a "California Meets the South" springtime southern charm shoot.
A perfect venue with a southern feel
When I think of the south, I think of the beautiful estates and plantations that made it unique. California has an abundance of beautiful vineyards, Spanish-style venues, and ranches, so I was unsure if I would find that perfect venue to make the shoot possible. After enlisting the help of Christine of CMG Weddings and Events, she found the absolutely PERFECT venue, the Fenyes Mansion at the Pasadena Museum of History.
Southern Comfort with a west coast twist
When brainstorming ideas, we also thought of other things that make a southern wedding.. the dreamy ballgowns, the southern belles, the tea and pink lemonade, and also the Spanish moss! While we don't have spanish moss in California, we do have palm trees, making our own west coast twist! We also wanted to incorporate elements that have not been seen often (or at all) such as a beautiful gold room divider as the ceremony backdrop, the "sip and be seated" pink lemonade seating cards, and a mobile popsicle cart which is the perfect springtime treat.
Natural popsicles and talented vendors
The popsicles from Bumby Pops are handmade with all natural ingredients by it's owner Nicole. The shoot came together wonderfully and I definitely feel I was able to feel the south in California that day. I hope you get that feeling as well and enjoy the shoot! It was an amazing day full of wonderful and humble vendors who worked so hard to make my vision come to life.
Want more inspiration? We thought so! This next wedding has one amazing dessert bar if we do say so ourselves.
