A Little Love Goes A Long Way
From the Bride: I wanted to make sure our wedding party knew how much we appreciated them. Do Your DIYs Early
My advice to future brides, especially those that are doing a lot of DIY projects is to make sure you complete ALL of your DIY projects at least a week before your wedding. I left a lot of things until the last minute and unfortunately I had to leave out a lot of great DIY projects because I unexpectedly got sick 2 days before my wedding.
Putting a Face to the Name
With my love of preserving memories, I've amassed quite a large collection of photos throughout the years and it finally paid off as we found the perfect photo with each one of our guests for place cards.
We also wanted to somehow incorporate the animals that lived on the ranch, so we bought plastic animal figurines to hold the photos up. We spray-painted them gold, cut them in half, and then added magnets to complete the place card holders.
Birthday Cake Surprise
One thing that stands out was surprising Derek with a birthday cake, since his birthday was two days before our wedding. I didn't want our wedding to overshadow his birthday, so in the middle of the reception, we stopped everything and sang him happy birthday.
