When planning my wedding my main objective was to create an event that people would remember and that would also reflect Simon and mines personality. I remember right after we got engaged we were trying to think of a venue, and for me personally I didn't want to do something someone has done before. We were in the car and we drove past this field and I just said, "Wouldn't it be so cool to do our wedding in a huge field?!" Well that's exactly what we decided to do. In that exact field!

It was a lot of work! I had everyone out working their butts off clearing out cow pies, picking weeds, and stacking fire wood. For some reason they still like me after I made them all do this. We did all the decorations. My mom spent hours ripping burlap and making a beautiful succulent wreath from her garden.  I spent hours making tassels out of tissue paper. I had this vision in my mind and spent the whole time hoping it would all come together. When it was all done and set up I was so happy at how everything worked out. People kept saying to me, "I was a little worried, but you made it so beautiful!"

I think you spend all this time wanting everything to be perfect. Focusing on all these little details. Once the actual day came all I could focus on was being married to this amazing man I chose to spend forever with. The day was so perfect, and I could not stop smiling! I also had a great appreciation for those people who made it extra special. When we were taking pictures we had this little old man in a top hat come over to us. He handed me a coin and said, " Tuppence in your shoe for good luck." In this amazing British accent. I really appreciated this small act of kindness from a complete stranger. Now I have this gorgeous coin to look at and remember the best day of my life thus far.

For my wedding my family was amazing at going with what I wanted. I have heard of a lot of girls that let their families take over their day and it isn't even a reflection of the couple. I was really happy with how everything turned out. The only thing I wish I could have prevented was I didn't do a tiered wedding cake, but I had other cakes for the guests. My family went to go get our cake out of the way after we cut it, and the guests ate all of it. I am still bitter about it!;) I wish it had been a little more organized.
