From the Groom-to-be:Heather is beautiful, sexy, intelligent, and very quick witted. She keeps me on my toes, and in fact she often jokes about me needing to keep up with her. Moving beyond all of her wonderful intrinsic attributes, she has taught me to be more open minded (tough work for an engineer) and this translates into me wanting to be the best person that I can be, especially for her. Most of all, Heather has truly taught me what it means to be loved, and without a doubt, this explains how she makes me feel when I’m with her – happy, all is right in my life, and confident of our future long life together. She is perfect for me.
From the Bride-to-be:When John and I first started dating, I called him my “metrosexual band geek” since he’s not only well-dressed, but he geeks out on music 24/7. He’ll crank Rush at full volume, air drum, and count out beats and go into great detail on the nuances of a classical piece. But that’s just him. John is so comfortable and secure with himself that he doesn’t sweat the small stuff. He’s the most focused yet carefree individual I’ve ever met.
I could go on and on about his good looks, his blazing intelligence, and his unending generosity. But what I love most of all is the sense of calm and peace he brings to my life. The kind of calm that can only come from being totally, wholly, completely loved. He is who he is, and his confidence assures me that I’m who he wants to be with for the rest of his life. He’s sure and steady, secure and strong. He is exactly who he wants to be, and exactly what I want for the rest of my life.
Taking the advice of a dear friend, we actually waited a few hours to call our family and friends. We had lunch, and giggled like highschool sweethearts at the table, aware that we were the only ones in the world who knew what just happened. It was like a bubble, this amazing energy surrounding us, and just us. Looking back now, I’m so happy we took that time, before all the craziness and planning kicked in, to just sit there, and be excited for the life we were going to start together.
