Simply put, Erich McVey Photography really knows how to capture a wedding. That is why he is part of our Hand-Picked collection. You can really see how captivating his work is from our next feature -Flavius & Nicky's elegant barnyard wedding. A dreamy affair filled with meticulously curated details, all found by the bride and groom.
One of our favorite details is the reclaimed wood box centerpieces, made by the groom's dad. The were filled with succulents and reindeer moss creating an elegant yet rustic wedding centerpiece. As you will see they used the arrangements for the aisle decor, then again as the wedding centerpieces. Such a clever idea ... don't you think? We rarely hear from the groom, but Flavius shared with us favorite memory from their wedding.
My favorite memory was seeing Nicky for the first look and seeing her walk down the aisle. It was a very exciting and special moment, one that I will always remember and cherish.
From the bride:
For some reason Flav and I both have always been attracted to old barns. I think the thing that attracts us both to it so much is the architectural details, the purity, and how a building like this just speaks for itself, but we never really knew we would get married at a barn until we went and toured Red Barn Studios. The think the impressive gothic truss structural system, the exposed wood, and the pure beauty is what sold us. When it came to the decor and inspiration behind the whole day, we knew we wanted to keep it minimal and simple, again letting the barn speak for itself. We knew we wanted the details that we included to seem as if those they belonged, and for everything to look cohesive and natural.
With the help of all our family and friends we were also able to create some diy projects which were so fun! We created the picture frame with our pictures and a linen background with hand made wood push pins to hold the pictures, the candle holders with lace wrapped around them, the dessert stands, our signs, our wood holders for our reserved signs, our moss F and N letters, the beautiful reclaimed wood box centerpieces made by Flav's dad, and our guest book table and bench also made by Flav's dad. With everyone's help, everything turned out so perfect and we are so thankful for all the help everyone offered to make our day so special and memorable.
Flav and I looove going to estate sales, antique shopping and going to auctions, so the moment we found our venue, we knew we were going to use all of the things that we have accumulated through the years, and we also knew we wanted to scout for all of the other details we wanted. Almost everything you see in our wedding , from the milk crate, typewriter, water jugs, all of the plates and silverware, and so on came from auctions, estate sales, wholesale stores, craigslist, and goodwill.
You simply must watch the wedding film captured by Joel Vanz Outdoor Wedding Films. It is simply lovely. We know you will absoutley love.
