Look no further than your back porch for wedding ideas. That is exactly what our next couple did for their California destination wedding. Marina and Brian found their wedding colors and theme in their little NYC garden.
Filled with home grown veggies, vibrant colors, fresh herbs and of course green grass. Taking inspiration from all this earthy goodness, this creative couple turned their love for their garden into their wedding theme. Designed and executed by the bride and groom with some serious day of help from LVL Weddings & Events. You must read on to hear more from the bride and be sure to see more in the full gallery. All these navy and green wedding ideas were beautifully photographed by Turn Loose the Art. Also watch out for a special painting commemorating Marina's tea length wedding gown.
From The Bride:
Inspired by our garden (and the newly planted grass last summer), I created the design for our save the dates and invitations which was carried throughout the wedding. Our centerpieces were designed by Brian and kept theme of the grass which we then used to create our escort card table and unique guestbook. We came up with the idea to have paper "flowers" that our guests could write on and then "plant" in the grass to sort of reflect the design of the invitations. Our favors were boxed peat pots with soil pellets and herb seeds so our guests could start growing their own garden of love. In keeping with the garden theme, we chose to name the guests tables herbs that we had grown in our garden and placed a few bunches at each table too. Last summer when the garden was in full bloom, we took our engagement pictures in it (turn loosetheart art photogs) so we were able to project our favorite image on to a wall at the reception. We also put that image on magnets that we gave out as favors.
Advice from The Bride On Planning The Wedding
Our advice for couples planning a wedding now would be to get organized and hire a day-of wedding planner! But seriously, making a checklist every month (or every couple weeks as the day approached) was extremely helpful. Also, get as much done in advance as you can. Planning from a distance was tough but because we took care of things earlier on helped us when it became crunch time. Doing these two things along with having our day of wedding coordinator (LVL Events was AMAZING) were the reasons why we were able to actually ENJOY our wedding stress free. Plus, we got to eat, which was very important to the two of us. Please brides, eat, drink and have fun at your wedding!
Something unique about this wedding, Commemory Fine Art creates paintings that are inspired by the gown and wedding of their clients. Below is Marina's dress and her painting. A lovely way to remember your special dress.
